Motivation is a funny thing, we scroll thru every social media platform looking for a post to inspire us, we look to Google, what celebrities are up to, what our friends are doing for that one thing to light that fire in our belly we had 28 days ago. Let me guess you are feeling overwhelmed? Dreading sitting at your desk for hours, your putting work off because you’re feeling un inspired, lethargic, you dread the idea of completing the business goals you set out to on January 1st. You’re telling yourself you’ll start over again tomorrow, knowing you actually won’t. All is not lost we have put together our top tips to get your MOJO back! CALL THE PEOPLE WHO CLAP FOR YOU EVEN WHEN YOUR AREN’T WINNING!
That’s right get on the phone now and call or text that person who always has your back, organise a lunch date, or dinner whatever it may be. Organise it NOW! There’s something invigorating by talking to that one person who always has your back, they tell you how it is and it’s in those conversations ‘Get your shit together’ or ‘You’re doing an awesome job’ that invigorate you to get up and get going again. Recently I spent a couple of hours with Bounce General Manager, Kelly Mason, and it was just the sitting down and talking to her about what has been happening that made me realise I have got this and I can do everything I want!
TALK TO THAT PERSON! ASK FOR HELP!
Maybe it’s time to outsource some of your business requirements. If we are all being honest there’s parts of each business we don’t want to do. I mean seriously, I don’t want to be doing my bookkeeping when I can spend those hours learning and researching what I am truly passionate about, marketing! So here’s the solution, stop doing shit that makes you unhappy and OUTSOURCE!!! You don’t have to be in control of every aspect of your business, let people help you, so you can spend time doing the shit you LOVE!
TAKE SOME TIME OUT
Get out of the office!!! You’ll still have to attend to business like taking calls, responding to emails etc. however trust me when I say it’s invigorating working from somewhere else. Get yourself out of your typical environment, currently I’m sitting on the balcony watching the waves roll in at 4:30am, not my typical four wall office! Do it!!
Say what? I recently started reading Remarkability by Lorraine Murphy and I took her advice on about decluttering (and many other points, seriously go buy the book). My mind has never felt clearer, I feel more organised than ever before and I don’t have shit everywhere! A particular line stood out in her book ‘Messy Desk, messy mind’ and this is so bloody true!! Do it!!!
READ A BOOK
Set yourself aside 15 minutes each day to read. No phone, no computer just you and a book! As I touched on earlier, Remarkability by Lorraine Murphy, loved this book!!
TAKE YOURSELF SHOPPING
Jump in the car and head down to your local shops or in this day and age jump online! Maybe some new work shoes, a new work bag, new work outfit, whatever it is BUY IT! For me I bought a 2018 Organiser, what do you know, inspired! Best $30 I have spent this year!
LASTLY SET SOME DATES
Sit down and set a date for those goals, now get to it!!!! They won’t achieve themselves. Your pity party STOPS HERE! Go and get all those things you know you can, RIGHT NOW!
